8AM-9:30AM Legal Intervention as a Preventive Tool for Health Care and Veteran Support

This program integrates perspectives from both Medical-Legal Partnerships (MLPs) and Veterans Affairs (VA) to understand the crucial role legal intervention plays in preventing health crises and homelessness. It focuses on the intersection of legal and health issues, particularly for vulnerable populations, highlighting how unresolved legal matters can exacerbate or directly cause health problems. Through a targeted discussion of legal issues that can cause stress on the health care system, participants will be introduced to the concept of social determinants of health and the importance of legal advocacy in addressing these determinants before they impact health.
